On Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 1-4 pm, LTQA hosted an event to release five new case studies as part of our project to develop the business case for LTSS integration. This diverse set of case studies describes exemplar programs operated by managed care plans, a continuing care retirement community, and a medical group taking full risk for patient care. This research builds on the work LTQA completed earlier this year – a first set of five case studies of exemplar programs, an analysis of the strategies and challenges they share, and a taxonomy defining the key components of LTSS integration.
The afternoon included a presentation from Jennifer Windh about new insights from our latest round of case studies, and a presentation from Anne Tumlinson about preliminary findings related to financial incentives for health plans to invest in LTSS for Medicare beneficiaries. We also heard from discussants Tanya Shah, Dr. Ron Shumacher, and Dr. Bruce Chernoff.
