The Long-Term Quality Alliance hosted its inaugural Annual Meeting this past February at the National Press Club in Washington, DC.  The meeting drew over 140 people interested in learning about the mission and goals established by the Alliance. Speakers included in the one day meeting featured colleagues such as Kathy Greenlee, Assistant Secretary, Administration on Aging, Cheryl Powell, Deputy Director, Federal Coordinated Health Care Office, and Paul McGann, Deputy Chief Medicial Officer, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

A big portion of the day was dedicated to showcase the new Innovative Communities initiative created by the LTQA.  A summary of the first Innovative Communities Summit as well as the distribution of the Innovative Communities Summit Report  highlighted the goals and laid out the steps the LTQA should take to encourage and promote creation of comparable multi-sector innovative communities that would involve local providers as well as consumers and caregivers.
