The National Academy of Social Insurance (NASI) hosted their 28th Annual Policy Research Conference on January 27-28 at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. This year’s theme was “Disparate Income, Wealth and Opportunity: Implications for Social Insurance,” highlighting NASI’s upcoming focus on inequality and social insurance. At the conference, NASI released A Young Person’s Guide to Social Security, Third Edition and The Aging Network in Transition: Hanging in the Balance.
LTQA Executive Director Larry Atkins moderated a session called “What Do the Numbers Tell Us? A Review of the Data on Economic Disparities.” LTQA Consultant Anne Tumlinson participated in the session on “Financing Long-Term Services and Supports: A New Model for Evaluating Policy Options,” which highlighted the Urban Institute model that was released in November.
